30 things in 30 days for 30 years - DAY 21

Day 21 of the 30/30/30 challenge - go on a stay-cation

This is another one that was not on my list but the opportunity presented itself and we took it. BAD IDEA!!!!

I have a toddler for those of you that don't know. Toddler + hotel = FML!!!

The night's plan was supposed to be mechanical bull riding with Lettie who was coming down for the weekend. But after a fall causing an almost broken ankle and contracting the flu she decided to stay home in her rainy gloomy new home in lame ass Seattle (bitter that she moved? me? NO!) so she gave me her hotel room for a steal. Doc and I decided we would go to a new restaurant and head over to the hotel where we would lounge and jump on the beds while relaxing and spending a nice night together.

We decided to start the evening with dinner at the Truffle Hunter in downtown Gresham. The food at Truffle Hunter is amazing!!!!! Next time you're in Gresham stop in for some of the best sandwiches ever!! Get one to share because they are gigantic!

We stayed at the restaurant for a while, enjoying the food and each other. Then off to the hotel we went. Nothing fancy, just a Red Lion in Portland. We got there and jumped on the bed and Ana was having a great time enjoying exploring the new room. For about an hour. Then "home?" "home?" "home?" was the only thing she would say. She would not lay down or even think about going to sleep. Around 9pm I went down and put her in the car and drove around the surrounding area for a while and back to the room where she finally fell asleep.... until 3am when she woke up and again would not do anything but cry and say over and over "home?"! Needless to say we packed it up and were home by 5am.

So, if you are ever out and about in Gresham and need a hardy snack stop by the Truffle Hunter, but if you have a toddler avoid hotels at all costs!!!
