30 things in 30 days for 30 years - DAY 16

Day 16 of the 30/30/30 challenge - OHSU Tram

With my back still hurting we decided that today would be a great day to go on the tram. While this might not seem like a big deal to some as many take the tram day in and day out it is something that we have no need to take so a ride on the tram to us is just that, a ride. A ride we have been wanting to go on ever since the city of Portland and OHSU forked out 57 million dollars to build the originally estimated 15.5 million dollar tram. This probably explains why the cost to ride the tram the short distance from the waterfront to OHSU is a whopping $4 each!

The ride was actually a lot smoother and higher than I anticipated! The launch from the waterfront is a steep one and when the tram reaches the "tower" its going fast enough that there is a considerable and uncomfortable rocking that occurs after it practically slams into it! From there its a nice little trek over the historic downtown area. I would not want to live in that beautiful area now that they have constant aerial neighbors peering in at their every backyard move in 10 minute increments.

I am not sure its worth the $4 but it really is a beautiful view of our sweet city. So if you got time to waist or need to get to OHSU and have four bucks burning a hole in your pocket jump aboard the tram for a swingin good time!
