Day 23 of the 30/30/30 challenge - build a fire in an unconventional way
Odd right?! Well, day 23 was among a few of the exhausted days where I really did not want to go anywhere or do anything! So it was decided I would try to build a fire in an unconventional way, meaning no matches, no lighter, not lighter fluids, no flints, nothing you would normally equate with building a fire.
Fine steel wool and a 9 volt battery. That's is, that's all it takes! That and a little newspaper and kindling firewood.
It was actually pretty interesting and surprising that it worked successfully. I attempted it a few times, the only reason the first attempt was unsuccessful was because I didn't have enough newspaper to help get the fire really going. After it was lit we enjoyed dinner outside with the fire-pit burning strong and later roasted some s'mores. YUM!
Check out this video of my fire conquest!
